Inner Landscapes and Monochrome Traces: Announcement of the 50 Mood Self-Portrait Project

I am embarking on a new and extensive photographic art project: "50 Mood Self-Portraits". This project aims to visualize the diverse states of the human soul and body through monochrome (black and white) self-portraits. Following my "One Man Army" approach, all processes, including concept development, shooting, and editing, will be handled by me.

Within the scope of the project, 50 distinct works will be created, each representing a specific "mood" or concept and featuring a detailed photo gallery. These dedicated galleries will be published on the goker.in website in the /[mood-slug] format.

Each gallery page will offer a comprehensive dive into the visual and conceptual world of that mood:

  • A detailed description and the conceptual framework behind the explored mood.
  • Selected impactful quotes to add different perspectives to the mood.
  • Full technical details regarding the shooting process and equipment used (Canon 5D Mark II, Canon 50mm f/1.4 lens, tripod, timer), including complete EXIF data.
  • A detailed evaluation of each photograph from compositional and technical standpoints.
  • In addition to these evaluations, the custom AI tool I developed, goker.me/photo-scoring-ai, will be utilized to provide clear and objective analysis of the photographs. A sample at the bottom.

The visual language of the project is inspired by the timeless and intense expressive power of black and white. The monochrome aesthetic will emphasize the emotional depth of the moods and the forms within the frame. The self-portrait format and the use of a tripod and timer will allow for controlled and deliberate capture of pose and moment, reinforcing the "one man army" nature of the project.

The "50 Mood Self-Portraits" project is both a personal journey of inner exploration and an artistic endeavor that pushes the technical and narrative possibilities of photography. Through the universal language of monochrome self-portraits, I hope to unveil the diversity of emotional states and invite viewers to contemplate their own inner landscapes.

You are invited to follow the progress of the project and the galleries as they are published on goker.in.

The sharp shadow cast indicates strong directional light from the top-right — well used to define form.

4. Compositional Flow

The path and building perspective guide the eye gently from background into the reflection zone.

5. Rule of Thirds
